Reports show that a car accident that occurred around 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 6 left two sisters injured.
The driver, 16-year-old Alexandria Barnes, was driving a 1998 GMS SUV eastbound around a curve on Buckhead Road when she lost control of the vehicle. The SUV overturned and came to a stop on its roof, leaving Barnes and her sister, 14-year-old Brittany Barnes, both injured.
Alexandria had not been buckled up, but it is unknown as to whether or not Brittany had been wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The accident left Brittany seriously injured while Alexandria only suffered minor injuries. Both girls were taken to receive treatment at Shands at the University of Florida.
